Using the Apple file transfer method from iPad to iMac: when you drag the file name to the Finder Window on the iMac does it delete the file from the iPad or simply copy it?

When you transfer files between devices either manually or by using iCloud, it copies the files between the devices. So the file remains on the original device until you delete it.
