Camera Remote - Black screen since update

I have the same problem and it is very annoying!

I have ultra 2 and all the time it is black screen, some of the time it is all blurred.

in order to work I have to restart both devices or one of them.

I faced the exactly same issue and tried everything but no luck.

Apple please fix it ASAP....

Devices & OS:

Iphone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17.4.1

Apple Watch 9, watchOS 10.4

Here’s the Solution i found and it worked so far. I faced the same problem on my Ultra2+ iPhone15ProMax and it was annoying.

Simply change your iPhones auto-lock settings to 1min or more.

On your iPhone go to:

• Settings/Display&Brightness/Auto-lock = not 30 seconds. 1min or more.
• Restart phone

test and it should work..

Same problem here, Apple can you fix it please?

It is just short term solution. I force restarted like 30 times. It works once or twice after that and stops working again.

this is a serious bug with no solution without update

Thank you. I was so frustrated when I was on a trip a few weeks back and not having it work. But like you said restarting both devices finally made it work. I guess IOS works like any windows device too. When in doubt, just restart 😅😆

No. Apple engineers do not peruse these forums. You need to tell Apple directly about the problem via Watch Feedback.

Apple can not be reached by posting here, this is a user to user forum only.

And we are all volunteers, so it might take longer to go through all posts to help with issues.

I did this many times, ok for a while then not ok again. And you never know when not ok.

My remote camera has been stuck as well, here's what I tried successfully:

I changed the settings of automatically locking the screen on my iPhone in Settings/Display & Brightness/Auto-Lock/ from 30sec to 1min. After that the camera app on my Apple Watch worked again, even after switching back the time to 30sec display Auto-Lock on the iPhone.

Force restart (by pressing the Digital Crown and the side button at the same time until you see the Apple logo) worked for me
