No option for "Show Contact Photos" in iMessages.

Under settings, in the message settings, I have no option for "SHOW CONTACT PHOTOS, (Show photos of your contacts in messages). This allows the little circle next to the contact name in the iMessage list. I have two iPhones using the same Apple ID. One phone has the option available and shows the circle with the photo or initials if no photo is set to the contact. The other phone doesn't have the option and obviously is not showing the circles with photos. Both are running iOS version 17.4.1. I can't find anything anywhere on how to resolve this.

iPhone 13, iOS 17

Hi - I have an IPhone 15 Pro, and exactly the same problem exists, for some reason the show photo option in messages is not available, or shown, whilst my partners IPhone 15Pro Max has this option, does anyone know why? Please can you help - kind regards John
