Text appearing where it shouldn't

On my Mac mini M1 using Ventura, Messages. Sometimes when I go to answer a text I find that a few words of text have already been entered. It might be just one word like Hello or as many as 3 words. It does not happen with every text I answer it seems to be more of a random happening.
