Unpair Apple Watch WITHOUT ERASING Data. Want to PAIR BACK to IIPX. How? TIA.

I have an IPX which I changed the APPLE ID PASSWORD. Upon TRYING to Use My APPLE WATCH- IT IS a SERIES 4. It has the CURRENT UPDATED SOFTWARE (9.6.3)-

it wanted me to SIGN into My Apple Watch with my NEW PASSWORD. I have tried Several Times.

with the ERROR statement as Failed Verification Attempt (?)

I was told by APPLE to UNPAIR and THEN RePAIR my Watch to My IPX.

Please. I do NOT wish to CLEAR the DATA on My Apple Watch.

What should I do NEXT?

thanks very much in advance.

iPhone X, iOS 16

When you unpair the watch a fresh backup is made with all the current data.

After pairing the watch with your iPhone X, you can restore the watch with the backup that was made.
