Taking iPhone 12 video only using volume buttons

I want to put my phone into a pocket with just the camera peeping out, but it keeps turning off when I start the camera then put it into the pocket.

how do I Rouen off touch and only use volume buttons to start recording?

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 17
