MacBook Pro M3 36GB ⚠️ Your system has run out of application memory

I recently purchased in April 2024 a new MacBook Pro M3 Max with 36GB of RAM and I'm already getting the dreaded Force Quit Application prompt with only 3 applications open and nowhere near the limit. I tried deleting both cache and log files.

I've searched everywhere else, and I'm at a loss.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
