Overriding apple music over alarms

So about a week ago I noticed that if apple music plays(which it typically does for me through the night), my alarm settings are no longer heard when the alarms go off. I am on the latest version of Android, and Apple music. I'm my settings are not on vibrate at this point. I have tried turning up the volume on the alarm to no avail. Please help I cannot afford to be late in the morning!
