Safari in macOS Mojave is not working properly

I’m having a constant problem trying to access all Internet pages on Safari particularly and even downloading software etc, I’m using OS X Mojave on an iMac 2012 quad core 16 gig ram.

it is saying that the connection is unsecure and I cannot download anything either. i’ve tried using permissions to except the page as secure but this has not worked.

i’d be grateful for any help before I take it to a computer guy and spend a heap of money or reinstall everything which would be a huge one week task.

thanks

The latest Safari browser that will run on Mojave is Safari 14.1.2 which was released in September 2021.

A late 2012 iMac can be upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7 but no later. Catalina can run Safari 15.6.1 which was released in August 2022.

If you want to upgrade to Catalina, make a backup and see instructions in: How to download and install macOS - Apple Support

Be aware that if you upgrade to Catalina 10.15 or later you will also need to update any non-Apple 32-bit apps. See: https://www.stclairsoft.com/Go64/

or

Whether or not you upgrade macOS, you will not be able to run the current Safari version 17.5. You may want to consider trying a 3rd party browser that supports their current version on your macOS version. There is also a user tip about which browsers will work with each operating system: Browsers by Mac operating system - Apple Community
