Are you asking about how to transfer data? Or about using the iMac as a display for the Mac mini?

Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support

The requirements for using Target Display Mode are very restrictive. You can only use that 2014 iMac as a Target Display for the Core i5 Mac mini if your setup meets all of the following conditions.

  • That 2014 iMac is a 21.5" Mid 2014 iMac. Target Display Mode went away when Apple released the first 27" 5K Retina iMac in Late 2014 – leaving the 21.5" Mid 2014 iMac as the only 2014 iMac with the feature.
  • The iMac is running High Sierra or earlier. Although you can upgrade that iMac as far as Big Sur, Target Display Mode is not supported when you are running Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur on it.
  • The Mac mini was introduced in 2019 or earlier. Since your Mac has an Intel processor, and the last Intel-based Mac mini came out in 2018, I think your Mini will meet this requirement.
  • The Mac mini is running Catalina or earlier.
  • There is a Thunderbolt connection between a Thunderbolt port on the Mac mini and a Thunderbolt port on the iMac.

Apple sometimes reuses model IDs, and according to MacTracker, they used A1347 for SEVEN different Mac mini and Mac mini Server models released between Mid 2010 and Late 2014. Of the seven models that match A1347, these shipped with Core 2 Duos:

  • Mac mini (Mid 2010) – has a Mini DisplayPort, but no Thunderbolt port
  • Mac mini Server (Mid 2010) – same deal

You cannot use that iMac as a Target Display for that nearly fourteen-year-old Mini. That Mac mini can't generate Thunderbolt output, and there are no adapters that can make up for this.

Mac mini Server (Mid 2010) - Technical Specifications - Apple Support

The Mini will support a Mini DisplayPort monitor (up to 2560x1600 pixels) or a HDMI one (up to 1920x1200 pixels).

There is no adapter that will convert HDMI output into Thunderbolt input for an iMac running in Thunderbolt Target Display Mode, if that is what you are asking about.

You must have a Thunderbolt connection to use that iMac as a Target Display, assuming that both that iMac, and the computer providing the video, meet all of the requirements for Target Display Mode. (Something that we have not established yet.)
