M2 MacBook Air stuck on Apple logo

I am updating my MacBook Air M2 from the previous version of macOS Sonoma to the latest. It has been an hour or so since it has been stuck on a black screen with only a white Apple logo showing. I’m not sure if this is relevant, but I am updating my MacBook while it is charging and connected to my external monitor, my wired mouse, and my Bluetooth keyboard. Anyway, how can I fix this issue?
