Website images are not loading in Safari ver 17.5

Embedded images are not loading in some websites – I see only the small blue square with ? inside. I can't make out if this is restricted to certain websites or general Safari behaviour, but it may be since I updated to ver. 17.5 last evening. This MacBook Pro is running Monterey 12.7.5. Any advice welcome (please write in non-technical terms).
