When will iTunes fully support Vista 64-bit?! (Can't burn CDs)

As others have noted you can't burn CDs under Windows Vista 64-bit. I was wondering if anyone knows when Apple plans to resolve this. It's been a LONG time now.
Thanks,

I don't understand why Apple support doesn't react on this, as the solution is ridiculously easy.
You need a 64bit version of the driver, install the one you find here:
http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm
Use "Driver installer for AMD64 and Intel EM64T processors".
Works like a charm.

Thanks, this indeed worked for me.
I'm going to leave this set to 'No, my question has not been answered yet.' since as you point out, we shouldn't need a 3rd party driver to make Apple's software work.
Thanks!

This seemed to work for me as well. I haven't tested burning a CD but it did get rid of the Warning message about an incomplete install.

WOW!!! Thanks a billion, Muldini! I have Vista 64bit and ever since I installed iTunes on it, I never got the burner to work on it and that stupid error message would pop up everytime I started the program. But I just installed the driver now and for the first time ever on this computer the program started without a hitch and it was able to detect my burner! Now I can go to sleep in peace tonight.
Apple should address this ASAP. Like you said, I also don't understand why they haven't settled this seemingly simple issue yet. With all of the thousands of Vista 64bit users out there, I'm sure we're not the only ones with this problem.
Go ahead people - if you're having the problem that you've read here and you're using Vista 64 bit, go and download those gearsoft drivers! I'm glad I did.

This issue has been driving me nuts for a couple of months now. Apple really needs to address this issue, especially with Christmas coming up. Just about every new computer sold will have a 64 bit processor and a matching version of Vista.

I totally agree with you on keeping this one unanswered. Apple has been negligent towards it's 64bit Windows Vista users. Everyone here needs to submit feedback to Apple though, otherwise they will continue to ignore us.

Most chips will be 64 bit for sure but they will not have Vista64 installed by default. Almost all retail purchased machines are Vista32 and it is a request item when purchasing a system online.
