Motion Path Framerate

My keyframed motion paths all behave as if they're 29.97 video, no matter what project settings I use. This makes for a visual conflict with my 23.98 video in FCP. Any ideas? Thanks.

What do you mean, they behave as if they are 29.97?

I mean they look like video on a broadcast monitor, as opposed to my 24p footage which looks like film (in terms of fps, of course).

Still don't know what you mean by that - so there isn't any evidence that they are actually playing at 29.97 - which wouldn't make sense, if you are working in a 23.98 project. Do you have motion blur turned on? Field dominance set to none?

Okay, the motion looks like 24p, but now it's choppy. Like I just took 29.97 video and converted it to 23.98.
