Dealing with same problem for two days. Restored iPhone. Unchecked syncing of everything. Bought free app from computer. Re-checked all syncing again seems to be working fine. DRM issue for sure.

Hmm

But if it was a DRM issue why did mine work? I didnt reset, delete or remove anything but in fact downloaded an app update and 3 new itunes plus songs and it resolved the problem?

It is becoming harder to find similarities between different users. I have tried every fix posted here and nothing works for me. My wife's iMac has iTunes 8.0.2, she has the 2.2.1 update to her iPhone, she has DRM content in her iTunes library, and she has installed the iLife Media Browser update that came out a few days ago and she can sync both her iPhone and her iPod with no problems at all. The only thing different is that she has not upgraded her iTunes library to iTunes Plus. That is the only difference between her computer and mine. As for myself, I am stuck until something from Apple is released.

I saw the same behavior. No iTunes sync issues with just 2.2.1 firmware upgrade, but once I accepted the updates for the iLife Media Browser and QuickTime, iTunes crashes out with the same error message the others have seen. I've done a factory restore, deleted and reinstalled iTunes and even restored my iTunes library via Time Machine all to no avail.

Help Apple!

OK

Along with most on this thread I haven't been able to synce my 3G iPhone or my iPod Nano for 3 days.

Been living with this since Saturday. I finally got tired of it and tried the following:

1- De-authorize my computer. Reauthorize my computer.
2- Sync my Nano
3- Bought a free app
4- Sync my Iphone 3G

All is well. I didn't try to restore my phone or Nano just did what is above.

Hope this helps someone

I'e been on and off the phone with Apple over the past several days. Though nothing significant has happened on my end, I wonder if something did happen on their end. I deauthorized my computer, selected not to sync applications, reauthorized my computer, the sync'd. Everything worked. One by one I started to sync my apps and made it all the way through. so far so good. The tech on the phone from Apple got some feedback from an unnamed source saying that they thought the problem may have stemmed from syncing applications. I'm not closing my ticket just yet, but I think something has happened on the backend to make it work. So far so good, though I would like and explanation from Apple.

This is what worked for me. I'm up and running again.

1 De-authorize my computer
2 Reauthorize my computer
3 Bought a free app
4 Sync my Ipod touch

Sorry,

I forgot the De-authorize and the Re-authorize step. I had to do this as well.

I think you laid it out perfectly.

I had the same problem. Itunes crushed every time when syncing the Apps. I chose not to sync apps and it worked with music and movies.
I just read on this topic about de-authorize the computer and reauthorize and is working.

wish you luck,
Robert

I have the same problem after the upgrade. I tried everything including reset, total reset (erasing everything) and factory restore. The problem with factory restore is that it reevrts back to 2.2.1 which doesn't help me.

Anyone at Apple knowing this issue? Please help!

This is driving me nuts now.

Deauthorised the computer and tried syncing only music - no DRM involved anywhere as the computer is not allowed to play it - -guess what! Still crashing after it synced just 16 songs.

Deautorize the computer and reautorize before syncing. Eventually try just a couple apps first. I think is related to apps. I also deleted AirSharing before syncing, But I dont know if that was the Problem. Anyway, it worked for me, it finished syncing like 20 apps at one time.

Best,
Robert

OK - I read through all of these forums (Apple fans are the best - thank God I'm not the only one with this annoying issue for the last three days)

I did what others are doing; I deauthorized my iTunes, then immediately reauthorized (by the way, it will reset your Apple TV and Apple TV will sync everything all over again - this is normal).

Now I just synced all of my apps and now moving on to songs AND IT HASN'T CRASHED! Previously before deauth and auth, it would have crashed 90 times.

So far the deauth and auth is working with DRM content!

SORRY! I missed one VERY important step.

(1) Deauthorized
(2) Authorize
(3) Go to iTunes Store in iTunes, purchased a FREE app
(4) Sync iPhone and now it's working just fine!!
