XCode repeatedly crashes on startup

Hi,
XCode keeps crashing whenever I try to run it.
I installed Safari 4 Beta today and XCode has not run after that; I do not know if the beta install has caused the XCode error.
chirygb had recently posted ( http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9032597 ) on a similar topic, but the error is not the same.
I desperately need to get XCode running to finish my course project! Please help!

i have this problem too. i had actually just started trying to use xcode as a beginner today, installed the safari 4 beta. xcode now crashes every time. other dev tools i installed seem to launch ok, dashcode, instruments, quartz composer.
i think i am going to uninstall safari 4 and see how i do.

i should add that i have done nothing else to my machine today other than install safari 4
i literally ran xcode 5 mins before the install and it was ok. now it wont run.
iMac Intel Core Duo 2Ghz 2GB RAM

I think the problem is, we are all running xcode 3.0, where the newest version is 3.1.2 (testing said theory now)

Hey guys, I'm having the same problem. Yep, just installed Safari 4 Beta. I had opened Xcode before today but just to play around. I was going to start a little MacRuby development this evening but now I can't do anything.
I'm downloading Xcode 3.1.2 right now, hopefully will work as it did for loudambiance. I'm getting it from here:

Yep, that worked for me, everything looks okay now! (Did NOT uninstall Safari 4 beta, just installed Xcode 3.1.2)

Safari 4b also killed my xcode (it seems). Uninstalling the beta doesn't help. Have an hour longer to wait for xcode 3.1.2. Really hoping it will help!

I'm already running 3.1.2 and I'm getting the same crashes with XCode and also Property List Editor. I'd post my log here but I think enough of us have already. I will re-install the developer tools when I get home later and see how it goes.

Just finished installing Xcode 3.1.2 and now Xcode seems to work again. Haven't done any extensive testing since my code is in the middle of a major overhaul and i wont be running it any time soon. The fact that Xcode opens up my existing project and doesn't crash anymore is very good news.
