My wife's macbook had the same issue. We fixed it by removing iTunesHelper from her Login Items a few weeks ago. It seems to have fixed the issue.

I have been having terrible luck getting my MBA to hold an internet connection for more than 10 minutes at a time. When it drops and I run the Network Diagnostics it never remembers the network password, either. I live in an apartment in a small building with only 3 other apartments. I have worked out a plan to share the Internet with a neighbor above me by paying part of the bill and receiving the password in return. I have expressed my issues with my neighbor several times already and Comcast has ultimately said that they don't know what to do to fix this connection problem. I thought it might be a problem with the router but my girlfriend and I can use the Internet with no problem at all on our PC's. I am frustrated because I thought the MBA was designed for wireless access and easy Internet use.
Any suggestions?

Try reloading the OS. I am doing it for the second time. We had no issues until we upgrade to 10.5.6. I will not upgrade this time around and see what happens. And we have had the MBA for awhile with no issues until the 10.5.6 upgrade.

I discovered the same problem with my Gen1 MBA after I reinstalled the OS and did a migration from my office computer (an MBP). I surmised that perhaps some of the internet settings from the transfer were not compatible with the MBA? Anyway, I read through these comments and deleted all the login items in the Accounts window, restarted, and ..... I think the issue is resolved.

Sadly, the only solution for me was to purchase another Airport Express and extend my network so that coverage is broader around the house. This stops all forms of drops.

Are you using a bluetooth mouse concurrent with wireless? I experience the same problem of dropping wireless all the time while using the bluetooth mouse. There seems to be some interference.
I don't have the problem while using a cable mouse or the touch pad. It's annoying but probably not solvable.

I have a gigabit Airport Extreme at home that's working flawlessly, updated to the latest firmware.
My friend has a be-gigabit Airport Extreme, also updated to the latest firmware, and it's constantly dropping the connection. It didn't drop at all prior to the firmware update.
No realplayer involved
Any ninja-level ideas on fixing this?

COuld you mail his system.log file around the time his connection drops.
Also get the outout of this command:
'/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport --scan'

Did Apple ever get this issue fixed!! I just bought a MacBook Air about a week ago (starting to seem like a mistake!) and was quite pleased with it until today. It suddenly will not connect to my wireless network.
I have a home network setup with an Airport Express and two other Apple laptops in my home connect to the network without any problems whatsoever.
I have tried everything I can think of including things read here and elsewhere. Nothing will coax this thing to connect to the network. I'm sitting right next to it now with a PowerBook G4 that is connected no problem (I'm writing on it now).
A couple of strange things:
1. It was flying until just a couple of hours ago. I downloaded two episodes of LOST from the iTunes store and the speed was amazing.
2. I can create a network from the MacBook Air and connect to that network with one of my other laptops (all Macs). The Air just refuses to connect to my Express.
If I cannot get this fixed asap I'm going to take the silly thing back and write it all up to a bad experience.
Ahhhh!!!!
Jason
P.S. A couple of other notes:
It will recognize the network but when I try to join that network it asks for the password and when I enter the password it either tells me it is incorrect (but it's not...I've checked and can verify by connecting with a different computer) or it will tell me that the connection timed. Or, occassionally, it will connect (or it appears to have connected) but it doesn't correctly get an IP from the Express via DHCP so although it appears to be connected, I cannot connect to the web because it's not really communicating with the Express.
P.P.S. (one more addition) - when it does connect to my Express (or appear to do so) and I look at the Network settings in the System Preferences, it says IP Self-Assigned even though the Express and the MacBook Air are set to use DHCP. And the self assigned IP is in the 192.168 range instead of 10.0.1.something
And the self-assigned IP will suddenly disappear.
Also, I was just running the Diagnostics and I kept getting a popup message saying that the network had changed....?

Update: Very strange but after picking up my MacBook Air and walking across the living room....it suddenly decided to connect to my network. I returned to the original location and tried to replicate the symptoms and could no longer get it to act up....?
Could it have been because it was sitting to close to my other laptop that is also connect to the wireless network....? Or the iPhone sitting right next to the computer (with bluetooth activated)....? Who knows.... I tried to replicate all types of scenarios and couldn't get any of them to make the MacBook Air act up again so.....I'm lost.
A lose connection somewhere in the laptop....???

Hmm, I had the same problem on a MBA (rev A) with my home Time Machine (but not other wifi at office or coffee shops, etc. ). It would drop the connection every few minutes; sometimes get it back on its own, sometimes not. I could always manually re-acquire by going to the airport fan pull down and selecting my Time Machine. But it was a real hassle.
(I didn't have Real Player, had already tried "Interference Robustness" and manually setting the channel to 9; all to no avail).
I force quit "iTunes Helper" from within Activity Monitor. That solved it, and did not noticeably affect iTunes (perhaps fewer Genius suggestions or something? I don't know). Weird. Someone mentioned it on this or another thread. Anyhow, perhaps worth a try for some of you.
(If that solves it, you may want to check your login items to see if it is automatically starting upon boot.)
