Duane:
OpenDNS worked like a charm! Thanks a trillion! I’m not quite sure how it works by your explanation, but I gather it opens up some sort of ISP bottleneck that crimps any Airport computers beyond your main wired-in ethernet one and increases the data flow, right? I can’t understand why biggie Verizon DSL hasn’t done same! In any case great job, guy! (though as in all “free” good things, you wonder what’s the catch! )
Anyway, my last hurtle here is securing my home network past WEP which seems the max security that all my G3 iBook and 700mHz iMac are capable of. I don’t quite understand using 802x which seems redundant after WEP and I want to use Firewalls as another layer of protection, but I can’t get Thunderbird (main concern) to do its mail thing unless Firewall’s off at both ends, which many Mac mavens here say you should never turn off.
Any ideas? I value your suggestions!
