iPhone 3.1 Won't Sync w/ Exchange

I have been using my iPhone 3G to access company email for months. I just upgraded to OS 3.1 today (from OS 3.0.1) and got an alert saying "The account <work> requires encryption which is not supported on this iPhone." My phone will no longer access my work email!!! I know that nothing has changed on my company Exchange servers in the last 20 minutes, so OS 3.1 must be the cause. Why can't OS 3.1 access an Exchange server if OS 3.0 & 3.0.1 have had no problems?

I'm having the exact same issue. I tried deleting my mail account and mobile device from exchange. I still get the error you get. Any one have any ideas?

I am having the same issue as well. Several of my co-workers are having the same issue with 3G but it works for 3GS users.

Same issue for me and at least one other person at work. I'm on a 3G phone, I think he is as well. I know of a 3GS user at work without issues.

Thanks for posting this. I have a 3G and use exchange e-mail through work. Based on this, I will hold off on updating until there is a fix. (3.1.1?)

Same issue here with a regular 3G. Cannot get into work email, says that the encryption used is no longer supported? Really? I rely on having this remote access.

Just updated to 3.1 (using a 3G) and my phone is no longer syncing to my work exchange email. Has anyone heard anything to resolve this?

I called apple - they said try to delete the account and enter it again - tried that - did not work. They said they are aware of it and are working on an update.

I wonder if the problem is with servers using exchange 2003 - does this only support exchange 2007? My server is exchange 2003 - corporate
