PackageMaker install to users home?

is there a simple way to make the package install to a generic "home?"
my initial thought was to simply build the directory structure around ~home or $home but neither one seem to place me in the home of whatever user would be logged in while using it.
would an applescript simply be easier?

Hi,
you can use "~/" which will place you at the top of the user's home folder.

that simply seems to literally create a "~" directory.

I see the problem you are having now. Package maker is unable to expand the "~' symbol which would normally point to the current user's home folder. When I tried this, a warning came up telling me to install to a temporary folder and then use a script to install to the correct location.
You can find an example of this in the PackageMaker Help.
