I got mine on tuesday and I didn't have one issue except the mouse freeze and 1 shutdown when I ran Windows in Bootcamp. Don't care much about windows and I guess this was rather an issue with boot camp then with the MBP. OSX runs very fast and even the apps in rosetta run fast.
Also the Migration Assistant took about more then 15 hours to transfer 70 GB. As this was my first use of my MBP it freaked me out, thinking of all the problems I encountered on this forum. But it was worth the wait because this machine is superstable, superfast, superquiet, supercool and an Apple product like i'm used to have.
I guess this forum is not the best place to come when you orderd or plan to buy a mac. Only people waiting for hardware or people with problems post here.
People with no problems just go on play with their macs.

I have no heat problems, no noise problems, no
crackling speakers, no latch problems, no keyboard
problems... but, I do have a slight bright band at
the bottom of my screen (not very noticeable during
normal use) and I have this weird bumpy or hazy
effect over the entire screen but, I convinced myself
that it's just the nature of the matte screen.
Can't be the nature of the matte screen because mine has the same light band across the bottom, "glittery" look in bright areas, and it's a glossy. Until I read this, I thought it specific to the glossies.

i got one of the early bleeding edge macbook pros. the one with dual core 2 GHz, but also the 256 Mb graphics card, and it worked fine from the beginning. i did have the battery which qualified for the exchange program, but it gave me good battery life for 7 months before it finally gave out, at which time i got a new battery that consistently gives me 3 to 4 hours of battery life while running intensive tasks (compression, etc.). no hardware problems whatsoever. a few minor software glitches from time to time (volume control, long time to wake from sleep, one kernel panic), that were fixed with software updates.
no display problems, doesn't get very hot, no squeeking keys, no processor or fan noises, superdrive works fine, peripherals work fine, airport works great ... this is easily the best laptop i've used, and i've used a lot of laptops (haven't tried a new core 2 duo one yet though).

Mine is awesome... screen (Matte) is wonderful.
Heat problem = What heat Problem.... I don't have any heat problem.
Its fast a blazes compaired to my G4 PB 1.67 Ghz.
If I was going to be really picky there is a rough edge on the left side right by the latch holes where the metal edge has raised up about 1/2 a millimeter. But its nothing.
I love my MBP

Part of your computer is coming apart? I had that same problem, I simply pressed it down and I heard a small click and it hasn't come up since. Woohoo!

Cant complain about:
fan noise (use Fan Control 1.0 if needed)
dead pixels
whine
usb ports
all work very well ...
combine a Road Tools Coolpad and iSkin Protouch in the mix, you've got a very very competent setup
Cheers :")

I have a glittery 15" matte display, manufacturer 0610, model 9C60, week 43 C2D. Let's see some other people (particularly those with "perfect" displays) post their build specs so we can narrow this down.

yes my display is great.. Hey but why not click "network" in finder and check that out? My brand new computer seems to already have been used by several users. There are many network names and work groups that I DID NOT create. The best part is I DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION to delete these networks. Maybe that's why you are having display issues. Is Apple selling second hand machines as new?

Could you please clarify what you mean by "click 'network' in finder"? If you're clicking on the Airport signal icon in the upper right corner of the screen (next to volume control and battery indicator) what you are seeing are other wireless networks in your area that have been left open/visible to any user. They aren't yours, so of course you don't have permission to delete them. : ) You can always try joining one, and see if it gives you free high-speed internet access. From my MBP in my living room I can see two neighboring wireless networks...
Apple will sell refurbished machines, but they are always clearly marked as such, and their hard drives are completely wiped and reset to factory/out-of-box settings.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND GOOD NEWS UPDATE!
I've found a TON of websites about the graininess issue from the x1600 specifically! Do not go and trade your computer for a different for glossy... I think it's a problem from the x1600 ATI card. Do a google search for "Grainy x1600" and you'll find a lot of websites with angry peoples on both Mac and PC side. Here's a couple of discussions I found:
http://www.notebookforums.com/thread173555.html
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/616284.html
So this is GOOD news and that there MAY be a fix in the near future (hopefully). I'm sure glad that we're not the only one with this problem. Please, don't blame Apple until we know if it's an ATI issue or not.... remember... this ATI chip is really really new.... there's something about dithering 18 bit graphics. (Not sure what that means)
Lets just hope Apple fixes this with a firmware update soon!!!
PS: This must be why the regular MacBooks do not look like this. It's simply because they don't carry the x1600 card. Tada!
This is the happiest day of my life! I'm such a geek.... but, I love it!

I've had my 15.4", 2.16 GHz, 1GB ram model for 2 months and have not had a single problem with it that wasn't self induced. I m an IT Manager and have extensive experience with Dell laptops and I am extremely impressed with both the build quality and reliability of this machine. I am running BootCamp and dual booting and even that works much better than I ever expected. What an excellent machine!

My MBP 2.33ghz Core 2 Duo is PERFECT. There is no distortion or bad lighting on the LCD, no dead pixels, no fan noise, no whine, no HDD noises, nothing. Runs faster than my similarly configured iMac 24" (yes same everything even video card.
Personally i think some of you are lying about the bad LCD screens. Get over it and start working on your macbook pro instead of whining about it.
