Hey
I have been having a macbook since september last year (2006), but some days ago, I realized that there were a "crack" i my macbook... It's not a crack like the others mentioned in this forum and on google.. It seams like screw holes are broke :S I have been taking some pics

As you can see this i very weird.. the macbook has never, and i mean never been dropped or anything like this..
I don't know if this is the problem, but as the cracks are caused by the magnet in the screen combined with the low plastic quality, and as you can see my "crack" or broken screw holes are located just under the place where the magnet would be when i close my macbook...
Have anyone tried anything like this ?

OMG me too. I bought mine in July 2006, but take good care of it and have never dropped it.
The white peeling on the side of is is like coming off, but I don't know why.

Good too see that I'm not the only one, have you tried to call Apple ? I tried friday, but after 15min, still hadn't had any answer so I'll try tomorrow.
Hopefully they will accept this as they do with the normal crack problem.

I didn't buy apple care on this particular mac. In addition, I can never get through, always long wait times, and sometimes it even just hangs up on me.
Let me know what happens when you get through.

My MacBook is just over 3 months old and I take exceptional care of it. It's never been dropped, I don't close it too hard, I am really gentle when handling and using it. I'm starting to notice the case separate along the top of the screen, my trackpad looks like it's starting to sink into the case, and there is a very major deformity on the bottom of my case. I assume this is from the computer running too hot. I agree with the opinion that the magnets are too strong for the plastic case. I didn't buy the extended apple care because every previous mac I've had to this one has been bullet proof. I accidently dropped my purple iMac once and it bounced but there was absolutely no damage. This MacBook however is very poorly constructed. I talked to Apple "Care" on the phone and they refused to talk to me because my computer is more then 3 months old, they referred me to a company more then an hour drive from where I live. Since I don't own a car I phoned them, after an hour of long distance conversation they don't want to help me either. I'm going to try the shop that I purchased the computer from and see how that goes, I'm crossing my fingers but not expecting anything positive. If anyone who works for Apple reads this I would appreciate an email with some suggestions on how I can resolve this and be a "proud" owner of a Mac, right now I'm thinking maybe I should have gotten a Dell.

Please post how you made out. My macbook is just over a year old and the seam at the top of the monitor is separating. I'm not sure what to do as I really don't want to send it away.
