Flash Nightmares on Safari. . .Help!

This all started rather simple. . . I visit a site of a client of mine that has a flash video that was not working on my Safari but did work on Firefox. I also had a SIMBL error come up every time I opened Safari which started I'm guessing either when I upgraded to Safari 3 or when I installed Adobe CS3 Web Design. I figured it was all related.
So it was suggested I try to reinstall the latest Flash Player. I got the "Access Denied Error. . . You do not have enough access privileges for this installation". Went to Adobe. It said to uninstall Flash, Repair disk permissions, restart and install Flash Player. I did all that and again I got the same Access Denied Error. But now when I go to any site that has Flash, I get "Safari cannot find the internet plug in - "The page “BlahBlah” has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type."
I am now Flashless both on Safari and Firefox which is not good because I design flash into web sites and can't test them.
I don't have time for this mess! Monday is the first day of my Nightmare week. That would make this a nightmare in a nightmare. . . HELP!!!

Hi
The SIMBL error appears because you have an incompatible 3rd party add-on installed. These items are found in either the Main or User Library: InputManagers folder or Applications Support>SIMBL folder. Let me know what you have installed there.
Flash:
Are you certain you downloaded the Intel version of the plug-in? If you are, Access Denied means either you are not logged on as Administrator, or the file permissions are incorrect. Go to your Internet Plug-ins folder in either of the aforementioned Libraries. Do you see flashplayer.xpt and Flash Player.plugin installed? If you do, go to your Utilities folder and open Disk Utility. There, "repair permissions".
If Flash is not installed, then go to the Finder: Home Account, single-click, then Command/I keys to open the Info panel. Make sure your User Account is listed in the permissions section with Read and Write privileges. If it's not, click on the drop down menu to change.
Close the panel, then try the reinstall again.

Aloha!
Starman. . . I fixed the SIMBL error, I found that I had AcidSearch add-on and unintalled that and now no more SIMBL Error. Thanks!
As to the Flash problem. . . I checked all the folders you alluded to and found no flashplayer.xpt or Flash Player.plugin files installed. I went to my Home Account, and found that I (owner) did have permission to Read and Write but "Group" and "Others" had No Access. . .
Does the all wise Flyin' Hawaiian Starman have any other suggestions for this Stuck in the Sand Desert Warrior?

While Starman does his midnight surfing (he probably calls it sleep), allow me to drop in with my 2 cents' worth!
Despite the fact that you seemingly don't actually have Flash installed, as evidenced by those two files not being found (and they should be in the Internet Plugins Folder on your main hard drive, not in the one in your home account), try this:
Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2 and then the latest version obtained from here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash and installed.
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.)
After installation you should repair permissions and restart.

Klaus. . . Thank you for your reply. I did this three times before, but what the heck, I tried it again just so I could tell you I did as you said. I downloaded a new Uninstall from the URL you sent me and also downloaded the Install for the Intel Mac as you suggested. I did the uninstall and it said it was "successful". I restarted and did the Install. As before, it said it was installing 15 items but when it got down to the second to the last one it gave me the error - 10008:5,-5000 Access denied Error - "You do not have access privileges for this installation."
Thank you for your taking the time to respond to my SOS. If you have any other suggestions, they would be appreciated.

Glad to hear the SIMBL error is fixed.
Now for the other problem - have a look at this post. See if that brings relief to the desert.

It's raining in the Desert! Thank you for going deep for me. The only difference in outcome was that when i dragged them over to the descktop and clicked OK on the installer it would erase one of the plugins. So the next time I drug (dragged) it onto a USB memory stick and ejected it. Then I closed the installer, put the plugins into my internet plugin folder and viola!!! (pardon my French) I Got Flash!
Thank you Starman. . . Your lightyears ahead of the rest!
