Mail server for "mac.com" unreachable for too long -- ***??

Every single time my mother in England emails me from her yahoo account, I never receive the message and after a few days she receives a failure message back form the mailer demon saying:
Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.
<********@mac.com>:
Mail server for "mac.com" unreachable for too long
This only happens form her yahoo account - all other mail - including other yahoo mail - gets through. What could be the problem?? Could it have anything to do with her being in England? I doubt it but.... Email from her yahoo account makes it usually to my gmail and yahoo accounts - but not always.
Any responses are appreciated!

I have exactly the same issue from a friend who lives down the street with a yahoo email address. This is the only person that I seem to have an issues receiving mail from and not it seems that I don't get any emails sent from that yahoo user. The error reads:
Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.
<xxxx.xxx@mac.com>:
Mail server for "mac.com" unreachable for too long

Well, I have an email into the .mac email support. When I hear back I will post their response. Unfortunately the one email address that isn't working is the most important one - my elderly mother who lives in England. If they can't resolve the issue I wonder what I can do because this email service is useless to me if I can't receive important emails.

I'm having exactly the same problem too. When my friend with a yahoo.ca account emails me from it, the email simply never arrives. After about 2 days, she gets an auto-response saying "Mail server for "mac.com" unreachable for too long". This only happens from Yahoo, I've had no other problems receiving mail from gmail or hotmail accounts. Please post if .mac provides some answers.

I am having the same problem with mail sent from comcast.net to .mac. Mail delivery is unreliable. Most times it transmits, but sometimes it is undeliverable after a day. Other times it is delayed hours...up to 26 1/2 hours. My message says
Persistent Transient Failure: Delivery time expired
....and thus a day later I discover the returned mail in my inbox.
