Updating to Security Update 2008 -02 disabled printing

I installed the Security Update 2008-02 today and now I cannot print to any of my printers. In the queue, all jobs are stopped as soon as they are added. I deleted the printers and readded them, reset the print system and tried to print different types of docs (word documents, jpg's, etc.), but I haven't been able to get anything to print.

Hello. I just installed the security update, too. Now my HP LaserJet 2605 printer stops each print job and leaves the file in the queue. Reinstalling the printer, as well as installing a new driver didn't help.
Same problem with my Canon ink jet Any thoughts?

Have either of you tried running the Repair Disk Permissions function, which is located in Disk Utility?

I repaired permissions before installing the update. I just repaired them again, but I still can't print.

I have the same problem. After clicking resume in the printer queue, I get a message saying
/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstops failed.
Not sure why this would be; the file /usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstops exists, and seems to have the right permissions.
Any ideas would be welcome, else it's back to a previous OS version for me.

Okay, so I solved my problem by replacing the file
/usr/libexec/cups/filters/pstops
by the corresponding file from the 10.5.2 pkg budle (using Pacifist). I guess there must be something wrong with the binary shipped with the security update.

I did Security Update 2008-02 and Safari 3.1, then found I couldn't print. My wife's Mac is not updated yet, and it is still prints as usual on the same network.
Printing process simply stays at 14% completed -- doesn't go into hold. Communication test to printer says communication error.
I have not seen any other error messages such as /usr/libexec/cups/filters/pstops. What does that have to do with printing???

I have the same problem but....
I have a Brother HL-5250DN which comes with two drives: BRScript (their version of Postscript) and a CUPS version of the driver. Brother recommends using CUPS but from time to time I switch over to using the BRScript driver. So, in my print queue, I have two printers that lead to the same printer--one using BRScript and one using CUPS.
The BRScript cannot print after the updates today. It fails with the pstops error.
The CUPS can print, however.
I'd like to solve this problem so that both drivers can be used.

What did you replace and with what, and how? I'm totally clueless here, not being that savvy.
Thanks!

Same problem for me. The HP-Printers (a LaserJet 2430 and a LaserJet 3390) dont print after the Security Update 2008-02:
/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstops failed

Wouldn't using the combo installer override all updates since that combo came out?
