Printing Problem after recent Security Update

I've just installed the latest Security Update for 10.5.2 and Safari 3.1 and I now cannot print from Aperture 2.0.1. Prior to the update installation everything was working perfectly in AP! Anyone else had a problem?
Many thanks

I am having the same problem! I did not realize that the problem in Aperture was related to the update. I will try the above posted links, but I do find them hard to understand.
Let me know what works!

Thanks for that Steve. I forgot to add that I can print from Photoshop CS3 & Safari but not Aperture 2.0.1.
Unfortunately, I'm no Mac expert and the tips on Mac Fixit are a little over my head, I may have to ring Apple support on this one.
Cheers

I have been having the same problem, and suspected that it was related to the security update. I can also print in any other program except Aperture. It's like the printer doesn't exist. I have 3 printers, one Brother and 2 Epsons, and none of them will print from Aperture. I tried the above links, but that did not work either. It is very frustrating to have a program that worked perfectly, and now doesn't. Prior to the security update, I was getting excellent prints from Aperture. Hope someone (or Apple, if they're listening to us) can fix this.

The issue is -- do you have anything from Rogue Amoeba on your system -- Audio Hijack or Airfoil? If so, remove them or update them.

Unless these are programs that were installed with the system then no I don't. I've been very careful not to install any gimmicky stuff to avoid problems.
Any further suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks

from macfixit
In many cases, simply reinstalling the Mac OS X 10.5.2 combo updater -- as mentioned above -- resolves this issue.
Before reinstalling the combo updater, however, you should try to restart CUPS manually: Launch the Terminal (located in /Applications/Utilities) and type the following commands, pressing return after each:
cupsdisable
cupsenable
Failing that, you may need to reinstall CUPS, or revert to an earlier version of the system. Various versions are available from this Web site: http://www.cups.org/software.php,. First you should use the latest file with a .dmg extension, then move to prior iterations if necessary.

Joe Schorr, Greg GIlley,
Are you guys listening? <edited by host> Has Apple just stopped doing regression testing? I would expect this from Microsoft. I don't have time for reloading old versions of the OS, or doing more troubleshooting. Printing worked before the Security Update to 10.5.2 and now it doesn't! This probably blindsided you as well, but you need to get this fixed.

You could call this a rant but since I got aperture I have had so many issues printing, I currently export to Photoshop CS2 to print, however it turns mu 40d raw file into a tiff file I think because CS2 does not support 40d raw files. The Prints from the Canon Pro9000 are fine from CS2. I too now have the issue with the print settings not appearing in the print window. I'd appreciate if someone could point me to something that summarizes all the print issues with Aperture 2, there seem to be a few.
I have a custom ICC profile for glossy and semi gloss canon paper, a calibrated display, shoot in Adobe RGB in RAW. The results have been very poor.

I can print but i can NOT change printer settings
this is after the security update but my MBP without is fine all systems go
the only way is to save as PDF and print from there
I am NOT amused with this state of affairs as i cannot now print out my work direct from aperture

Same problem here with my B9180 printer. Right now I need to export to 16 bit TIFF and use PS3. I have sent the problem via the Aperture feedback page. Hopefully enough people will do this and Apple will get a fix in place soon.
Very frustrating!
