This is crazy. I am in Europe, the card for my Jan 2007 Mac pro PCIe arrived, (I had ATI1900) and it doesnt work. I called Apple support and after a long hour they called the main ingeneer and he said it should work. I keep reading that PCIe is not compatible with PCI 2.0 card. Any news on this one?

I bought a Mac Pro 1.5 year ago and the crappy ati 1900 card is having some serious issues with heat problems. Im even starting to have artifacts in the desktop.

There is no way Im buying a 2.5 year old card for the price Apple is offering. The only option is at least a nvidia 8800 card.

Please dont tell me that the only way to have a decent card is to boot into Vista. I used Windows for a couple of years but decided to switch back to Apple after they launched their Intel Macs. Now I deeply regret this decision.

OK...I won't tell you...but if you read enough you'll be able to figure out that I didn't tell you what you didn't want to know but really already knew before I didn't tell you.

Of course we'll all be waiting to see some benchmarks, but great that Apple has responded with an upgrade path for the original 8 cores.

Man, nice to see this. As long as the weird noise lines don't show up and it at least equals performance of my 1900, I'm fine with it. I just placed my order too but I'm eagerly waiting from Gen 1 benchmarks.
