TRY THIS IT WORKED FOR ME TRY THIS IT WORKED FOR ME TRY THIS IT WORKED FOR ME

Hi, I've had the same problem where I would get the message 'Please wait very low battery' then a picture of a sad ipod with an explanation mark and a address for the ipod support site would come up.

Ive tried everything but nothing worked. A friend told me an ipod can charge itself if left on a heater( not too hot). So i put the ipod on the central heating for some hours and presto it was fine.

My 30gb Fifth generation is acting funny. When I turn it on the battery symbol in the upper right hand corner has the lightneing bolt in it as if it was plugged up to be charged. I had it plugged up to the computer and it was charging, but this is happening after I had disconnected it. Can somebody please help me with this, Thank you

My cousins IPOD had the same problem. I told him I'd take a look and try to fix it. After going through all the resetting and all, I was able to get it into Disk Mode and its charging. Here's my dilemma. His ipod is formatted in windows and I'm on my MAC. Once the ipod was recognized in itunes it began "updating library". Once it had fully updated I thought it would be fine. Then it began "DETERMINING SONG VOLUME" counting upwards to 4114 tracks. After it finishes there whats going to happen? Am I going to have to restore it?

I really don't want him to lose all of his content. He no longer has his PC and has no way to upload all the stuff back in if I restore.

Of course I have this same problem with a 30gb 5G. The reset system seems to work. Once it is reset 2-3 times it will boot while still plugged to the USB port. The PC recognizes the connection and loads iTunes. I have restored this iPod about 3 or 4 times, and the same Very low battery eventually comes up. So I replaced the battery. Same thing. This has to be either a logic board problem, hard drive, or battery problem. Hard drives on iPods are prone to die, so that is a distinct possibility. A bad logic board would probably give other signs of problems, which I am not seeing. When it works, it works fine. I've charged it with the wall charger and USB, only to have it fail on battery when I try and listen to it later. Sometimes it works great for a few days, then fails. I've done disk mode, resets, restore, all with no long term solution. The 5G video must have a glitch that hasn't yet been fixed with a software update. Perhaps a class action lawsuit would get them off their butts.

OK PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!!! Ok the solution is clear!!! the person who stated to reset it a few times then go into disk mode is correct but no one has mentioned one thing!!!! (a very important step!) i tried this over and over and got nothing! what you need to do is reset it a few times, then when it has a slight charge you do go into disk mode - what they fail to tell you is that it will no go into disk mode while plugged into charger or computer - i tried this over and over and could not go into disk mode - than i unplugged it from charger reset it again then hit play and select and it went right into disk mode and plugged it in to my computer and walla fixed ipod!!!!

ive been trying everything on this list for over 3 hrs and nothing works. my ipod is still under warranty so hopefully apple will step up and do something. my ipod has died/frozen four times this week. once to a white screen that took me holding down the menu and select for about a minute before it came back and once a straight freeze up with a weird sound, another time to a blank screen with a black line that was only revived by hooking up my ipod to my computer and then today after walking to class with a full charge and coming out of class i went to skip a song and poof gone. been trying to reset and hook up and remove and trying disk mode. nothing works. aaaahhhhhh!

I would suggest the following parts for any "low battery" situation. There are many reasons for the problem, from a bad wire, usb that does not have enought power to charge, to a bad battery. I have found that the following parts resolve the problems as long a you keep the ipod connected to the external charger, or an external charger, like a car external charger, while playing thru the radio. The parts are: Apple ipod FireWire Power Adapter (part number M8636G/C) and Apple iPod Dock Connector to FireWire and USB 2.0 Cable (part number M9688G/A). You must allow enough time for the weak battery to charge up (about 2 hours) before connecting to your computer, so that the ipod will have enought of a charge to "act normally". If the ipod still does not work normally, then do the reset procedure. Hope this helps someone.

Don't ask me why this worked but it did. I had the same problem, I held down select and play forcing the ipod to go into disk mode. Once in disk mode it kept beeping and shutting down UNTIL I unplugged the ipod and then plugged it back in. Once plugging it back in the battery icon on the ipod showed that it was charging, left it to charge for a couple of hours and I'm back in business. I tried every other described solution without being able to fix it, this seemed to have worked.
