Ok, so I have a 16GB White iPhone, and I noticed little "hairline fractures/cracks" on the back spreading from the camera outward.
Is anyone else's phone have this??

What happened to the previous thread? I posted a few things yesterday but can't view it now. It says, "Error: you do not have permission to view the requested forum or category." Any thoughts?
Oh and I do have a 16GB Black iPhone that is cracking. Two noticable cracks on either side of the Apple logo and a numerous array of very fine cracks by the volume buttons. Took it to the Apple store in Chicago but they refused to do anything. They said it looks like scratches to them...
C'mon Apple, make this a known problem/defect already.

We are not Apple! We're users like you.
But, since it is problem known to you, why don't you just take your iPhone into an Apple Store and request a replacement??

Which doesn't mean that's what will happen to the OP. Nor does it mean that's what will happen if you try again. Different day, different genius, different outcome, perhaps.

So what happened to the other thread? There were over 100 responses, many with cracks in their phones.

I'm a bit annoyed that the previous thread had been removed too (and yes, I am keeping things in perspective btw). I had posted details of my phone cracking around the camera and was posting updates on my conversations with my phone carrier O2, here in the UK.
Anyhoo, I've emailed Apple direct now and will post their (if any) reply, provided this thread doesn't disappear too.

What is also annoying about the original disappearing, is that when I spoke to O2, they said they hadn't heard about the problem. So I was going to print off the thread, with its hundreds of entries, to show them that it is a known issue and plenty of people are being affected.
I have to say, I have faith that Apple will sort this out. They have a reputation for outstanding customer service, from what I understand. I'm not sure I even want a replacement until Apple clarifies the situation, and resolves this design flaw.

There are many ways to show that this is an issue. Try going to news.google.com and entering "iphone cracks" and you will see many news stories about it.
Patience, and Apple will fix it.

I agree. This isn't a software issue that can simply be patched. So far I see no cracks on my iPhone (white) but I am very worried about it. I want the issue to be addressed.

Just a note to all those "conspiracy theorists" about Apple deleting threads to stop debate on the topic. The threads in question were polling people about their phone cracks. If anyone chooses to read the terms of use on these forums, polling is against the terms, and threads with polls are removed. Okeey dokeey.
