Error 5002
Posted: Jul 14, 2008 8:44 AM

Anyone had error 5002. I think I changed the iTunes country by accident and iTunes logged me out. Now when I try to log in, it gives me this error. I tried everything. Changing password, share library name. Tried on Mac and PC, but still same error.

Anyone help?

Helpful

I have the same problem, changed the country and now I get error 5002 on every computer. I had a nice chat with an apple techie but she couldn't help me. She said she would send an email to a higher level so that the problem can get fixed and that I would get an email, this was yesterday but still no luck. Lets cross out fingers and wait for a solution.

I have been working with a tech lady, and she said that technicians are checking for error logs on my account. This was 5 days ago. I hope they can reset my account. Looks like iTunes doesn't like when credit card country doesn't match the iTunes Store country.

It took about 9 days to fix the problem, at the end I got 5 free songs from them. Nice move.

Had the same problem today after having changed my password in MobileMe. Got an Apple rep on the phone and she was awesome. We walked through it and after explaining the glitch, she had me do the "forgot password" option from iTunes, not mobileme. I got the email to reset it and changed it and that solved all my problems with not only the 5002 error I was receiving in iTunes but also my syncing problems in MobileMe. Go figure. Seriously, big thanks to the Apple rep.

Hope you find this fix useful.
