10.5 Server RADIUS and XP Connection via Wireless
Posted: Mar 11, 2008 9:16 AM

I have a Mac Pro running 10.5 Server with RADIUS running and controlling 3 base stations

I used a DHCP Static Map to assign a specific IP address to users based on their MAC address

They authenticate to the Airport Base Station/RADIUS system via pen Directory binding between the RADIUS server and an XServe with user login info running 10.4.x server

I set up a default certificate on the server for the authentication process

This process works fine for any MacOS X Laptops running 10.4.x or 10.5.x

However I cannot get XP clients to connect and can find no documentation to assist or other info

I get message varying from Windows cant find a certificate to logon to this network even though I used the certificate assistant to install it on the client, to sometimes authenticating but not getting a valid IP address. Is there anywhere with info on how to get a Windows machine connected to the Leopard RADIUS implementation. I have tried with Vista as well without sucess.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated

Just to let you know you're not alone. I can get my Macs to authenticate just fine, but after hours of battling with XP, I simply can't get the same results. If I ever have a breakthrough, I'll be sure to share it- please do the same.

I just setup the same configuration. I had some trouble getting the xp clients to work and then I found this site.

That took care of it for me, I hope it helps.

Oh wow, I hope this works.

The getting the Macs connected was almost too easy... but it's worthless if I can't get my Windows users on the network.
