The problem seems to have only been partially fixed. It goes back to the music now, but I lose control over the iPhone when it does. No fast forward, no skip, etc. IF I undock and redock, it fixes it.
PS: A fix for those on 1.1.4. No need to reset the iPhone. Just undock it, go back into iPod, press play and redock it. Not ideal while driving, but have your passenger do it, or do it at a red light.

My phone seem to work fine with this stereo but is it me or do you have to go through all your songs to hear one. The radio does not break it down to playlist and I have to go through hundreds of song to hear one. If you can have the radio reconize the playlist can someone tell me how, thanks.

Hi there - I just installed a DEH-P700BT in my car this morning.
Setup went pretty well, I connected the Bluetooth for the Telephone first and checked that worked - all good, it synced the phonebook nicely also.
Then tried the wired connection to stream audio - also all good.
However when I tried to use the BT Audio, it doesn't seem to be able to connect? Any tips here? I'm using an Iphone 3G with the most recent 2.0.2 firmware. The iphone itself sees the Stereo as PIONEER RGB BT as Paired. Doesn't see any other devices (should it?)
Any help much appreciated

BT Audio is for stereo bluetooth audio streaming. It won't work because the iphone does not support the A2DP bluetooth profile. Try to set the source to Telephone, you will know if your iPhone is paired if the blue telephone is lit up next to the HD radio logo.

The one thing I am curious about;
Does the DEH-P700BT charge the iPhone 3G?
I know the iPhone 3G differs from previous iPods / iPhone, because the pins used for external charging power now only use USB power.
The thing I am looking for is a car-stereo with Bluetooth built-in, ipod/iphone3G connectivity and ipod/iphone3G charge capability.
Does the DEH-P700BT provide this?

Yes, the headunit has a standard USB port you can use with a regular USB to 30 pin iPod cable to charge and play music off of your iphone 3g

I talked to Pioneer customer support this morning and they said the iphone 3g was supported for bluetooth/phone functionality but not for ipod functionality. Purchased the iphone 3g a couple week back and wonder if I should wait for the next gen product when this is "officially" supported or go with this & deal with potential issues.

Thank you for posting these tips! I just installed my new DEH-P700BT and love it, but had to suffer with having to hard-reset the iphone everytime I finished an incoming call to get the ipod to restart. Quite annoying since restarting the iphone meant starting back at song1 and having to forward to the right song. As a driver, I found it doable (when I don't have a passenger) to restart the iphone with one hand while driving - easier I think than plugging/unplugging which really needs 2. I really wish Pioneer or Apple would fix the problem (whoever's problem it is). I'm using 1.1.4 on my non-3G iphone. Anyone try with firmware 2.1?

I haven't purchased this Pioneer yet but asked a guy that has demo video clip on YouTube about the issue. His and another's follow replies were:
http://www.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments&v=JQQyiD4ehDY
"no reboot ... as long as you are using the usb ipod connector music will continue ... and i dont see to much video lag in itunes purchase content but i do see some in stuff i ripped"
"1. You will have NO problems ( listening to music, taking a call and having the music resume upon ending the call ) as long as you are connecting the iPhone 3g to the DEH-P700BT with the supplied USB connector and setting your iPhone as the USB control.
2. If you are connected using an optional 1/8" AUX cable, ( Only use the 1/8" AUX cable only while watching Videos and YouTube so that the sound and video are properly synced ) the music WILL NOT resume upon ending your phone call."

From reading the Youtube thread mentioned above it does sound like the problem with resuming music after a phone call is fixed, though it would sure be nice to hear that directly from someone here.
It occurs to me, though, if the iphone is connected via the USB, why is Bluetooth really necessary? It seems like there should be a microphone input capability using the USB connection. This could be handy in other applications as well, given all the USB mics out there. Just a small matter of programming, right?

I have the 700bt as well. I have had it installed for about a month and it works great. I had the problem like some of you with the iphone disconnecting the next time it started up. I just reconnected it again and the problem went away. I also had the problem of it not finding the iphone. The next time I had the phone look for the device rather than the stereo, and it worked.
My problem that I am having is when my iphone is connected, it will play my music, it will find my art work, but it wont play my videos frome my iphone. It has the video emblem but it is shaded gray as if there were no videos. Is anyone else having this problem? I have an unlocked iphone 1.1.4 and the 2.0 700bt stereo. Any help would be great.
