"let my Epson driver handle it" bug. That would be great. I'll try that after installing it.

There is still an annoying bug: Aperture to mobileMe Webgalleries do not show up for insert in iWeb.

I started playing with this a couple of weeks back and the first folder I created via the MM webpages, while the second direct from Aperture, then to test, just dropped an image onto the icon, which then was the old .Mac (I had never been a member) and changed to MM with the upgrade today.

I presume that you have been a member of .Mac/MM for a while.

I wonder if that is related to the problem. First time user, turns it on and it works, while others, like yourself, have not been happy with it. Preference files? Settings?

I did notice when accessing the preference pane for MM that the application contacted Apple several times (I have Little Snitch operating which asks for permission each time). Might there be a problem there, in that Aperture is not able to make the required connections for one reason or another.

Graham,

No, those are the galleries in Aperture itself, which display properly. He's speaking about iWeb. If you use iWeb to create your website, there is an option to insert galleries directly on your web pages. They look like the galleries on the MobileMe site in that you can scrub across the icon to see the photos. For whatever reason, the galleries created via Aperture do not appear in the list of galleries to add, while those created with iPhoto and on MobileMe directly do. The bug has been around for a while, and it's rather annoying

OK. Now I see. I was slightly confused as they seemed to be working OK for me and thought that information might be of use in isolating a problem. Never used iWeb (apart from a look) and prefer to do all the writing myself.

Thanks for the confirmation.

After installing the 2.1.1 update, it re-optimizes all the photos I have synced to my iPhone.

Well, I downloaded the update (Software Update didn't see my Aperture v2.1) and ran it, and it doesn't see v2.1 either... Thoughts???

Okay, someone asked the key question...

"Is it possible your Aperture application is not loose in the Applications folder? If it is in a sub folder or the Aperture name was modified, the update might not recognize it."

Sure enough, I had moved it into a sub-folder for my graphics and photo programs (trying to sort out all the apps).

It sees it now... The question now becomes, do I want to apply the update???

Mike.

I'm new to the geotag discussion. I've added Maperture as a plug-in to geotag images. What's peculiar, is that I can only export the EXIF geotag coordinates when I export the Master, not the version!? Even when Aperture show the EXIF data in both files.

geotags in exported versions from Aperture (Re: Aperture 2.1.1 is released)

there's an easy fix -
Just store your Masters outside of the Aperture Library.

For existing projects, you can use the “Relocate Masters for Project” menu item from the drop-down menu on the project directory in the Aperture “All Projects” sidebar pane, to relocate your masters from the Aperture Library to an external directory.

This appears to fix the problem.
Photos you've previously tagged, as well as newly geotagged items, will now export as versions w the geotag metadata intact.

Just tried a different workflow. (Still keeping images in Aperture library)

1) Downloaded GPS data log.
2) Connected camera to computer.
3) Used GPSPhotoLinker to merge GPS data into original JPEG images on CF card in camera.
4) Uploaded CF card into Aperture. (GPS data is there!)
5) Exported both Master and Version. (Both versions have GPS data now ... However THEY"RE DIFFERENT! We're talking small change. After the fourth digit following the decimal place in degrees, so +/- 18 feet)

Interesting...
