Spore: Origins for iPod Click Wheel - Not getting past loading screen.

I just purchased Spore: Origins for my iPod Classic and the game won't get past the loading screen. It gets about 75% of the way and than no more luck past there. This is very inconvenient as I don't know who to go to about troubleshooting it, or if that doesn't work getting my money back.
Do you think they will offer a revision of the game if it is widespread? And, if so will I get to redownload it for free?
First time I've really had a problem with the iTunes store. Although it is the first time I've pruchased a game over it.
Can't wait till Spore btw.

Just adding a "ditto" to this. I have the exact same problem; the game gets 75% through the loading screen, and then it just stops. I've tried letting it load for a long time - leaving it alone for several minutes - but it doesn't go past the 75% mark on the loading bar.
Clicking the center button and "Menu" to reset the iPod does fine for getting it back to normal, but this game (which I'm REEEEEEEALLY keen to try out) won't load - I've reset the iPod three times now. I hope this is worth the wait until a fix can be found!

I purchased it this morning (EST) and it does get past the load screen but just goes black. On my 5th gen iPod it sounds like the drive inside is spinning, but I'm forced to restart the iPod.
How do we go about getting this fixed?

I'm in the same situation with my iPod Classic 80Gb v1.1.2.
So no word from Apple or EA? Why was this game not tested before release? where's the quality control? This is starting to look really bad...
I think that if EA or Apple doesn't resolve this matter in 24H we should be entitled to a full refund. My money is in the pockets of Apple/EA and all I got was a non-functional app...

The game apparently has been pulled from the site now. Someone over at Macrumors.com in there forums mentioned that if you have your own music playing it tends to work. Just a quick check and mine does load. I haven't tried game play though.

Yep! I've been affected as well. After trying a couple more times, I've decided not to play Spore until there's an update for it. Hopefully it gets fixed soon, I was really looking forward to this.

It's still not working. However, I wanted to report the following "difference in malfunction" from the initial freeze-at-75% problem from the other day:
I tried the suggestion from earlier in this chain about starting it while already playing music. That got the game to start up and go to the main game menu screen. However, as soon as I started playing and it went through the first pop-up information screen, the game froze again. And once again, I had to force-quit my iPod.
So.... Is anyone at EA, its subsidiaries, or Apple going to help this poor game evolve already?

Yet another update - it's almost as if the program itself were evolving, not just the character in the game...
I'm now able to play if I start the game with music already playing. I got up to about level 5 when the game froze again (while trying to start that level). So, I rebooted the iPod, and when I re-started the game, I was back to square one - none of the autosaving (which I thought, at least, was happening between/after levels) saved the game. I decided to start saving after every few levels and then just restarting. After that first save/exit/start, I started getting popup windows every time the song changed on my playlist, showing the track title, artist and album art. Could THIS feature (which I haven't seen in any of the many other iPod games I've got) be the source of all the weird freezing-up?
Technical burps and hiccups aside, it IS a rather fun, catchy game, but it'd be nice to play it with only its own "Ambient sound" and not my music playing in the background.

Thanks. I think they've fixed the problem. As far as I know the game redownloaded itself.
