Image Issue

I read where there is image issue posted at top but would like clarification.
I have following feed:
feed://thecatholiccafe.com/podcasts/thecatholiccafe.xml
The art is showing up in itunes store, but when I download podcast the art is not showing up? Can anyone please advise why as I am confident I have proper images and tags.
Here is image url:
http://thecatholiccafe.com/podcasts/thecatholiccafe.jpg
This podcast has been active and searchable over a week in itunes store. Since the image is proper in the itunes store, shouldn't it download properly to individual itunes accounts? Or is this a waiting game due to new itunes release.
Thanks
Steve

As far as I can find out, the podcast image appears only in the main page of the iTunes Store. The space in the bottom left-hand corner of your own copy of iTunes is for displaying video podcasts, or the images in an enhanced (m4a) podcast: it does not show the main podcast image. Images cannot be added to an mp3 file: if you wanted to do this you would have to convert them to m4a files with one or more chapters with embedded images.

Well, I did some more research and it's more complicated than I thought. I entered the URL of your xml file in the Advanced>Subscribe to podcast menu of iTunes: no image. Then I entered the URL of my own audio podcast - http://homepage.mac.com/rfwilmut/podcasts/podcast.xml - this time I did get my image, rather to my surprise.
Your xml file is fine: it does not have the separate 'image' tag that mine does, but when I deleted that from mine it made no difference. However, my image is 300 x 300 and yours is 600 x 600.
So the only thing I can think of is that iTunes (which obviously has to reduce the image size for display) does not like the 600 x 600; the test I carried out does not involve the Store at all, so that it's own tendency to delay showing the smaller image in the Search results isn't relevant here.
You could try changing the size of the image to 300 x 300 and see what happens. Test it by using the 'subscribe to podcast' method I described above, rather than in the Store, so that you won't get confused by the Store's tendency to delay things.
Please do post back and report the result.

It's accomplished through storing the image into the file metadata.
To place image metadata into a file select the file in iTunes right-click and select Get Info go to the Artwork tab and click the Add.. button. In the window that appears choose the episode image on your computer and click open. then in the Get Info window click the OK button. Your episode image has now been stored into the metadata for the MP3 file. Upload this MP3 file to your server and when visitors download the episode the episode artwork will be displayed in iTunes.

So it turns out - a fairly well-kept secret. When I downloaded one of my podcasts and opened it in a program called 'MP3 ID3X', which writes tags into MP3 files, I discovered that there was an 'image' section, and there was the podcast image - evidently placed there by Podcast Maker, which I use for my podcasts. (Just to be confusing, iTunes displays it but the QuickTime player does not - at least in v7.1.2.)
So that is the explanation: the OP is doing it by a method which does not write this tag into the file. Thank you for the explanation, Certified.

I will try this. I knew about adding the image to MP3s as I have done that with album art ... but I assumed it only added to data in the itunes music folder and not on the mp3 file itself. Very intersting. I will try and post my results today. Thanks to both of you for your help.

I confirmed that the metadata does indeed save to the mp3 file and my podcasts now "visually" work exactly as I want them. Thank you for your help everyone.
