Nothing but beeps when I start

I did nothing to upgrade. While the wife was surfing the computer froze. She turned off the Imac and when she went to turn it back on, all it did was beep at us with a grey screen. I have tried all combinations

Hello Roger,
How many beeps is critical to know before offering more...
1 beep = No RAM installed/detected
2 beeps = Incompatible RAM type installed (for example, EDO)
3 beeps = No RAM banks passed memory testing
4 beeps = Bad checksum for the remainder of the boot ROM
5 beeps = Bad checksum for the ROM boot block
