This list doesn't even mention anything about the 9G66 build which is a retail copy off the shelf that came in the new "Box Set" which included a separate retail copy of iLife 09 and a separate retail copy of iWork 09.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1633
Seems we don't have the newest build if many of us are running 9G55 which came from the last software update.
10.5.7 will be coming out sometime which should contain any updates in the 9G66 build along with possibly other small bug fixes etc...

The list is usually out of date and doesn't reflect what's put into the latest packages or equipment. 9G55 is the standard 10.5.6 build. If and when 10.5.7 ships, then, if Apple's true to form, it'll merge everything that came out after 9G55 and itself, reflecting the latest of builds. It's also possible that with new hardware, there might be separate and distinct builds.

Mr Kriz
I keep seeing an animated GIF at the end of all your posts that makes me think there's something wrong with my computer. I hope you're able to get rid of it soon.

Well, does anyone have a tip on how to change the icon back to a normal light bulb?

Yeah, I have the new "fluorescent" type spiral bulb now, too. A little green symbolism, I guess...

10.5.7, build 9J61, new CFL bulb under Energy Saver.
At least I'm willing to 'add useful information for the sake of an icon' unlike other posters in this thread...

Hi Dave,
Thanks.
My first statement above was that I was just curious but some people think they own this place I guess. I made one guy cry above...
Strange some people have it and some don't and one poster above changes between the two.
I just installed 10.5.7 (build 9J61) yesterday and I still don't have the new icon on any of my computers.
I guess my computers aren't Green enough like the new ones are...
Thanks for everyone's input except for the cry baby....

I downloaded the combo installer and ran the 10.5.7 update this morning. It's build 9J61, and I do have the new compact fluorescent bulb icon.

Doug,
Yesterday I installed the other version on the download site. I did not use Software Update.
However, that download did not seem to show the new spiral energy saver icon.
I downloaded the Combo Update today.
First I tried Pacifist to install only the Energy Saver preference pane.
After restarting, I still had the old icon.
However, in the System/Library/PreferencePanes/ the Energy Saver contents showed the new energysaver.icns icon. It was the correct icon but it still was not showing in the System Preferences window.
So, I installed the entire 10.5.7 Combo update a little while ago....
Now I have the new spiral energy saver icon.
Apparently many of us need to install the Combo updater to get all the new icons and who knows what else.
Case solved for me and thanks again.

Okay, on my main account on my PowerPC G5 i have the old light bulb, but I recently added a new account and that account has the new CF bulb. Anyone want to try and figure out why the same computer with the same updates has two separate system preference pane icons?

I noticed the same thing. I went into the account with the old version and deleted two items com.apple.preferencepanes.cache and the com.apple.systempreferences from my ~/Library/Caches/ folder and logged out. That fixed it and replaced the old style bulb with the newer CF bulb.

After noticing that a new user account displayed the newer CFC lightbulb icon, I went into the user>Caches folder and deleted the file" com.apple.preferencepanes.cache". After a restart the new icon appears in the Preferences panel.
