Upgraded B&W Mac won't chime with the power button

I have a B&W G3 with a Sonnet G4 500 Mhz upgrade that I have not had plugged in for 6 months. It worked when I unplugged it, but now it starts, gives no chime and does nothing further. Though, the HD spins up and the lights on the motherboard light up. Somebody please help. I don't know what to do.

Hi, Kurt -
...that I have not had plugged in for 6 months.
If it was left unplugged that long, the internal battery is probably dead; many G3 models have boot difficulties if that battery is too weak or dead. Replacing it would be the thing to do.
When doing that also reset the CUDA -
Article #95065 - G4 (PCI) - Resetting Cuda
Although that article is written around a G4 (PCI) model, the procedure is identical for both it and your B&W G3.
G4/500; G4/733; various OS's
Mac OS 9.1.x
DSL, enet

Thank you Don!
I am gonna have to go get a battery and give that a shot. Do you think that after the replacement battery and a reset CUDA things should just come right back to life?
I'll let you know how things go. I appreciate your help.

Don,
I still am having the exact same issue. I press the button, I hear the HD wind up, the front button and mother-board lights turn green, but no "Bong" chime. Blank screen only. I installed the firmware for the Sonnet G4 when I first installed the upgraded CPU and I have a Radeon 7000 G-card installed. I just added a brand new PRAM battery and reset the CUDA button, but still I have no change. What would your next step be?
Thanks so much in advance!
-Kurt

Figured it out myself... I'll elaborate for the sake of the forum.
I inserted my original G3, booted (normally, to my extreme satisfaction), checked everything out and all seemed well and good from a software perspective. I downloaded the ROM software for OS X and ran it - It told me my firmware was already upgraded... vexing, I know... so I tapped my forehead like Winnie-the-pooh saying "think, think, think" until I decided to run the firmware patch uninstaller and start from scratch. So I did that, ran the (re)installer again, through in the G4 Zif and BAM! I'm typing on my 500 Mhz G4-powered Blue & White Yosemite!
Thanks for the help and feel free to ask me anything now because I'm pretty sure I'm a genius...
