768kbit bandwidth cap for Europeans ???

Please click here for more information from Apple about this.
Whenever I try do download a movie from my web gallery, or when the browser loads the movie for playing it's much slower than my internet line allows.
I'm on a 4Mbit line, but downloads are capped at around 78kb/sek (like a 768kbit line).
The same is true for Apple's demo gallery, and for files downloaded from my public folder using the filesharing page.
Only by using speeddownload (that opens multiple connections) can I get full speed.
Why are we getting a second rate productm when we pay the same price (or higher sometimes)?
Any other Europeans here experiencing the same thing?

Yeah, I get similar results. I have a 4Mb line and 150KB/sec, I should be able to get speeds of upto 450KB/sec.

At least you're getting twice the speed I am
I wonder if it's the same for all of us in Europe, I've not seen any from the US complain.
I just purchased iLife'08 and love the new .mac integration, but I'm not paying $99.95 pr. year if my websites are going to all be this slow.
Especially with movies, it's a pain - and the new way the web movies play (by starting over and over every time the download speed can't keep up with the play position it's even more annoying with the slow speed).
Let's hear from others - is this a common problem?

I was thinking that my web gallery movies were taking an unusually long time to buffer/download. I've only been a .Mac customer for the past few days, so I don't know if this is typical performance or not.

I just did a small test on Apples own demo gallery at:
http://gallery.mac.com/emily_parker#100419
Trying to view the large version of this "Summer Vacation" movie, my PC need to buffer for almost 2 1/2 minute before it starts playing, even though the video is only 29 sec. long.
On the Mac it's even more annoying as the video keeps starting over again, until it has buffered enough to keep up.
Sorry Steve, but I think I'll still be sending DVD's to my grandma for some time still
I love the concept of just using online video instead of DVD's and I'm sure it's the way of the future (Apple's good at thinking ahead) but for now, .Mac just isn't up to it - at least not for us over here in Europe.
Please share your experiences.

Same here (Finland), 18 Mb/s line but only ~73 KB/s (pretty constant) from gallery.mac.com.

Same is true for me. I am connected via 2Mbit line by T-Online Germany. However, speed tops out at appr. 70 kb/sec.
I thought the speed limitation applies to all users, not only europeans.
Cheers,
Markus

Hi all,
I'm from France with a 28Mbits ADSL.
Web Gallery is really a pain with a max download speed @ 70KB/s.
All my friends have given up trying to see my latest movie. I paid 99euros for nothing...

Same problem here in Germany. What´s about Apple? Where´s a statment? I think, that´s not fair - 99$ aren´t peanuts! It´s not possible to watch a short movie (15sec.)! Come on apple - do anything, please!

Hi all just curious, what provider are you all going through? Just wondering if there might be some common thread.
