Browsing Safari while listening to music
Posted: Sep 15, 2007 9:50 AM

I can't do both effectively at the same time. While using Safari, periodically whatever I'm listening to will pause and then all the sudden I'm listening to first track on the ipod (listed by title). Am I doing it wrong?

I'm actually having the same problem. I can't get the music to start playing again and I have to restart the Touch to get it to play anything again.

Hopefully that is something that can be fixed via firmware update.

For a revoulutionary device, it sure has its share of problems.

A firmware update will fix it.

I'm having the same problem. Specifically pages with log in and or a lot of errors tend to trigger the stop in music. Does anyone have a short term work around? Ideally I would like something more then not being able to do both.

I also noticed this... It seems to occur when I got to navigate to a new page on Safari sometimes it will silence the song I'm listening to.

This may or may not be fixed. It's been over two months now with the iPhone and Safari is still crashing on it. Don't hold your breath.

I've also noticed this now that you mention it. It was Thursday night though so I wasn't familiar enough with the Touch yet to know if the song just paused or not, I went to the menu and selected my playlist again. Now that I read a bit more the double click access to the currently playing song is very cool.

Safari alone and music alone haven't caused me any problems yet though.

Update: I just went and tried to replicate this. It does appear to pause the song but if you double click and try to unpause it starts the first alphabetical song on your Touch.

I sure hope Apple is able to resolve this problem quickly. Does anyone have any idea of how many users have this problem?

I'm having similiar symptoms with the ausio stopping, then playing the first track. It also happens to me if I start playing music, then try to use coverflow to browse albums, stops it every time.

I don't seem to be having that problem. The music just keeps playing seamlessly while I surf the web. I have the 16 gb IPT, and only have about 500 songs on it so far. I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount of space available on the flash drive. I went to quite a number of different websites while listening to music, but none of them required signing in.

I'm having the same problems. I've found it's better if I don't try to do anything advanced with Safari, like log into sites, or reply to blog posts. But glad to know I'm not the only one...
