Seems like everyone is having problems with the new update. Is anyone able to update their iPhone without these problems??

okay guys...thanks. I know this is a "problem" forum...but just wanted to make sure that it's not like a 90% chance that I will be unable to use my phone after updating...cuz I have no problems now...don't want any. I love my iPhone..don't want a dysfunctional relationship with it. Again, thanks...off to do the update.

I basically had no problems. The phone froze just after the activation pop up came through. But I did a restart and it's been fine since.

I had no problems either. The only advice I have is that the firmware update can take several minutes, during which it may look like the update might not be working. Resist the urge to disconnect the phone during this time. If you are a person who will sit there and stare at the screen and get nervous, just walk away for 10 minutes and you will come back to a nicely updated phone.

I didn't have any problems downloading. I tried most of the new applications. The changes have not (as yet) been listed in the "user's manual". The video explaining the changes is primarily about the new iTunes feature. I had a heck of a time trying to find the feature that allows you to disable "EDGE". I think it is the "Data Roaming" feature listed under Settings/General/Network.

Problems here,
I have lost everything I had loaded onto the phone and had to "restore" the firmware. Photos gone, tunes gone, phone numbers gone, everything.
I have not messed with the phone or tried any work arounds. It's as it came from the factory.
Thanks Apple.

Mine went without a hitch. I think it took under 15 minutes total and half of that time was for the download. Phone rebooted and reactivated itself. Didn't lose anything on the phone, WiFi settings and passwords are unaffected. It's all good so far.

No prblems here. Just let it do it's thing, don't rush it and expct the download to take a while and then let the phone load it, reboot itself, reactivate itself and you should be okay.

No problems here...perfect install in less then 15 minutes. Plugged it in and LEFT IT ALONE...Dont touch anything irregardless of what the phone says...just let it do its thing and dont touch.

no problems here as it took me a total of 5-10 minutes to do the update, I did get a little scared when it said when I had to activate my iphone after the update, but that disappeared right away.
