Problems in waking from sleep

I have installed Leopard without any problem, but I have noticed a problem that recurred twice: my MBP no waking up from sleep when one or more firewire HDs are attached.
Is anyone having the same issue and is there a fix?

I too have some problems with waking up from sleep mode.
My G5 has a Dell display with keyboard and mouse attached to it. Now whenever I wake it up from sleep mode, the keyboard and mouse don't work. I have to plug them into the front usb-ports of the g5 to get them to work...
I had no problems on my MacBook.

My machine has trouble going into sleep mode, the fans keep running. Then it freezes and cannot be woken from sleep. I have to remove the power.

I just experienced the same problem. Perhaps it has to do with the X1900 graphics card both of us have?

Having similar problem with MBP 2.4ghz. Goes to sleep OK, but waking up takes a long time (30+ seconds). There is also a problem with the touchpad after waking up; slow to respond and jumpy. Happens regardless of how many apps are running; sys resources seem OK. Suggestions?

My problems seem to have been solved by a re-install of the ATI drivers for my X1900 G5 edition.
Hope it works for you !!

And now the sleep issue has been replaced by another one - a kernel panic! Suddenly, while Time MAchine was running. I had to power off the Macbook Pro and turn it on again.

I'm having this issue on my quad-core MacPro, with no external drives attached. I have an Elgato Eye-TV, but it still does it with that disconnected.

I originally had a wake from sleep problem after updating a system I cleaned of outdate and not compatible applications. After waking from sleep, the box awoke but froze and the only way to restart from the spinning ball was a forced power shutdown restart. After repeated tries I did a clean install and had the same issues with freezes after a restart. I had NO USB, or firewire devices connected during either install or during the time when I experienced freezes upon awakening from sleep.
Its the totally clean install issue that bothers me, so guess Ill have to shut it down each time until someone figures out what the problem might be.

Same here on a Dual G5 2Ghz with a Radeon 7600.
When trying to put the machine to sleep the screen goes dark but fans keep running, once they even went into high speed mode. Can't do anything but press the power key for a couple of seconds to turn the machine off.
No problems whatsoever before Leopard.

The Login and Keychain Update that was released this morning seems to have fixed this for me.

Have this issue and another which I posted in a different venue. NEVER had problem with Tiger. Am now experiencing different issues. Have used Macs for years. First time I have ever experienced up-grade issues with Apple. Feel I've regressed to Microsoft.

I take it back; the update didn't fix it. If I manually sleep it from the login window and wake it right back up, it works. If the computer goes to sleep on it's own after sitting a while, it doesn't come back.
