Leopard Airport problems.

Since I upgraded to Leopard I have not been able to connect to the internet using airport.
When I check my connection under network in system prefs. IT shows that I am connected to my wireless network but when I try to use Safari or iChat the apps don't recognize that I am connected to the internet and ask me to troubleshoot.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem.

Since upgrading to leopard, I'm frequently getting errors connecting to my wireless network ... I receive the "none of your preferred wireless networks could be found, select one" screen which clearly shows my network which I can then select and reinput the password (which is still stored in keychain) and sometimes it will connect me then. Other times, I turn off the airport in network preferences, then turn it back on and it magically seems to connect to my network without any further input from me. I found these error in the console log today:
11/6/07 9:12:54 AM SystemUIServer246 Error joining ******: Connection failed (-3 result unavailable)
11/6/07 9:13:12 AM airportd2015 No networks found on channels remembered for ******

I have the same issue.
I installed the new 10.5.1 update but the problem still exists on my Mac Mini.

I have the same types of problems. Airport drops connection or has intermittent reception 10X a day... worked fine under 10.4.

I have the same problem exactly! And the same MB with the same hardware upgrades. Like 6 or 7 times a day, seemingly random, my wireless will just drop in and out. disconnect for 15 seconds, connect for 1 second, disconnect me for 15 seconds, connect for 1. The airport icon looks like a really slow strobe light. This will go on until for like 10 minutes unless I restart or disconnect from all networking programs and restart my airport.

I have an imac g5 which I have been running with 10.5.1 from an external drive without problems. Recently I booted back into 10.4.11 to run a classic app. When I returned to 10.5.1 airport would indicate that it is connected but it was not connected to the internet. It shows an appropriate IP address. I tried restarts and a new location to no avail. I can connect with my macbook pro via airport but the g5 continues to fail. MacStumbler shows the usual connection data. I can't connect to external servers with ssh or other intenet apps.

I should have added that when in 10.4.11 I installed the Security Update 2007-009 v1.1 Doesn't seem like this should have affected 10.5.1 on the external disk but I don't know.

Follow up: Installing 10.5 on a different volume of the external drive and copying the network settings from the original 10.5.1 installation resulted in the new install failing to connect to the internet. Installing again on another volume and copying the network settings from the 10.4.11 installation resulted in 10.5 able to connect to the internet. Upgrading to 10.5.1 maintained the connection. So the network settings on the original 10.5.1 got messed up somehow. Is there an easy way to copy settings from another volume without reinstalling the os?

I was able to use Setup Assistant to transfer network settings from one volume to another by selecting the volume to transfer from and unselecting all the files, applications etc. to be transferred so that nothing was actually going to be transferred. That brought me to the screen asking about transferring network settings. Checked that and successfully transferred the settings. As a result I was able to connect to the internet. The only problem is that the ip address was transferred as a static address. It works but should be using DHCP. Switching to that caused the internet to fail as before. The router supplied the usual DHCP address but it doesn't work. So I've got the internet with the static address but it's clearly not set up correctly.

OK, went back and checked the 10.4.11 and found airport was set as manual ip address. Changed that to DHCP and renewed the address. Everything worked OK. Went back to the other two 10.5.1 installations and reset the ip addresses to DHCP and they also worked. So, finally, I'm back to a working system, set up as originally.
