Unable to open Address Book Preferences
Posted: Jan 25, 2008 5:11 AM

When I try to open the Address Book preferences (in order to set up Sync with Exchange), I get the following message in the console:
"Address Book (168) Read attempt failed (1,60)"

Resulting in being unable to open the preferences of address book.

It did work before, but I changed the preferences, tried to sync using iSync and got the message that the Exchange Server was not accessible. When I tried to reopen the AddressBook preferences, it took a very long time before it responded, but it didn't open the preference screen.

I tried to trash the cache, restart, etc...

Anyone a clue?

Solved

Welcome to Apple Discussions, Phillip.

Go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist and drag that file to your desktop. Now relaunch AddressBook. Any better?
