iPhone saved me from laying in the yard with broken leg after being wet

I am on pain medicine from my leg.. so please excuse the wording!
This may void my warranty, but I have to pass this on.
We had an ice storm here a few months ago and I am still cleaning up..Well I was cleaning up the yard and dropping more trees.. a beautiful day!
One last tree and we are done! right? well we took the tree trunk down.. its a river birch... OK.. so I start to walk off an I hear a big BIG crack from the tree next to it.. I am between the tree and my pond. I have a cement pond! hahah come one Okie jokes! I'm gonna need em!
OK... I have a island in the pond, next to me. so This tree cracks.. and it starts to fall.. so I have no choice, the tree takes me into te pond! I smacked my leg on the concrete platform just under the water level that supports the island vegatation.
Yeaup.. I was wet!up to my neck in water, and had this weird intense pain in my foot. I knew it was broken. I accessed my location on the water, I jumped out of the pond as fast as I could and layed there to recover from the pain for a moment..
Then I reach on my cell phone pouch on my belt clip and grabbed the iphone.. I unlocked it and call the wife in the house and to call 911 as I broke my leg. the Iphone was fully submersed and its still working! what a life saver.
The ambulance shows up as well as all the neighbors and I keep hearing this ewwwww oh man... ewww.. from my foot being pointed in the other direction! LOL..
I broke my lower Tibula in the lower leg in two places and dislocated my entire foot.. Left foot.
I just got home from the hospital and surgury to install the plate with 6 screws and reattach ligaments and tendons on my foot.
Thank you iPhone for working for me in this situation.. saved me from agonizing pain for laying in yeard unti someone came by!
Yes it got wet.. yes I know my warranty is gone, but its worth it knowing this phone worked. I am buying another one for the wife.

Sorry to hear about your accident and broken leg which I know was painful but on the bright side when it comes to falling trees and large branches, this could have been worse.
Thanks for sharing your story with an iPhone that worked after being submerged.

That is pretty wild, wet electronics working is pretty wild. You're one lucky person!
Get well fast!
(Now you have an excuse to buy the 16G iPhone and then sit around and play with it all day.)

Thanks everybody! I appreciate the great words of healing, I am feeling great BTW agreed, I am one lucky man!
I was impressed by the iPhone coming though when it was submerged on my waist when the water level was almost neck high. I know the case may have helped some? any thoughts? I know of many phones that get a little moisture and fail. This one has been tested really well!! HAHA..
The phone is still working great and charging fine, headset still works a-Ok! THANKS APPLE!
LOL.. now my wife wants one! I get to go shopping Awesome phone.
