AUPN gets an inside track like Kelby gets with Adobe.

Editing Plugins

The AUPN overview mentions that there is a new Plugin architecture for editing. This doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere else. It could be huge if it fosters development of various plugins for processes not covered by Aperture itself (such as more sophisticated noise shaping, sharpening etc.). Anyone know more?

Thanks for the shout out there. :)

Here's the word on the plug-in architecture. It's in Aperture 2, they just haven't released an SDK on it. Personally I hope Apple starts to really push this, as it will change everything. From what I understand there's very little that can't be done in the plug in.

Right now if you go to Images>Edit With you'll see "no plug-ins installed". Once those are available, that's where you'll find them.

We're waiting on info on the SDK, as we'd like to be involved in plug-in development.

I've started a thread to discuss what plug-ins we'd like to see here

Plugins is exactly what I am waiting for before buying. I want either Noise Ninja or Noiseware availability without spending money on Photoshop or PSE.

Otherwise, Bibble and Bibble Pro are my only real options on the Mac. For now, I am staying with just using DPP as much as I prefer the Aperture workflow.

Does this mean that we could see plugins with possible "selections and regions" or "reverting from negative to positive" in the near future ?

I've seen what is to be some confusing info. In one place someone said that RAW support is now built into 2.0. But on the Aperture features site it says several RAW enhancements are dependent on running 10.5. Since you guys have used 2.0 can you comment on what is gained/lost if using/not using Leopard?

Thanks!
