As a user who streams movies off my desktop, the new update is utterly miserable. The movie list doesn't follow the sort recommendations in the metadata. To jump from TV shows to Movies now requires four or five remote clicks, when they should be a click or two away at most. What, did Nokia build this interface for you?

I realize you really want me to start downloading HD movies (which I won't be doing). In fact you're slapping me in the face with it. But I'd also like to at least use my AppleTV the way it used to work.

I was so excited to try out this new release. Now I feel iMovie'd all over again (yeah, who's brainiac idea was it to treat movie clips like iTunes music?). I think I'll be reverting to my 1.0 factory defaults and suffer through not having YouTube.

Thanks for turning a great product into a lousy one. I can't believe Steve signed off on this UI...

O.k. I was prematurely pissy, because once again Apple changed the paradigm.

Here's how to get your remote PC to play nicely with your v2 ATV:

1. Go into your AppleTV Settings > Computers.
2. Sync your AppleTV to your computer (DON'T "Add a Shared iTunes Library").
3. Go back to your computer and type in your five-digit code.
4. Down at the bottom of your AppleTV page in iTunes, select "Custom Sync".
5. Go through the tabs and turn off movies and TV shows from syncing (and whatever else you want).

(you may need to click the little (x) up in your iTunes info box, if the thing starts syncing; can really slow things down)

6. Go back to your AppleTV. The movies from your computer should be in Movies > My Movies. Same goes for TV shows (TV Shows > My TV Shows).

Also, this list will be sorted correctly, unlike the shared lists.

It would be nice if you could sync more than one computer to your Apple TV, but I can live with this now that I've figured it out.

Sorry Apple TV guys (developers, UI designers, etc.). I just wish you'd give us a little heads up when you're going to make things simpler for us.
