The code NAWinterBook08, says it is expired??
Posted: Feb 29, 2008 1:04 PM

When I try to order with the coupon code from apple's discount NAWinterBook08, I get the error, that the coupon has expired. This promotion was suppose to be until today. There was a post on the photo page saying that they were haivng issues. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, on the leap year?

Same here. I've submitted to the online help form. We'll see what they say.

I have had all sorts of issues trying to connect to the system, both from Aperture and iPhoto 08. An iPhoto book finally went through, only to get "cancelled" a few hours later because of a "bad" file. Seems their system has really become overloaded because of the promotion.

Sound like a programing issue to me - I'd suggest ordering and requesting a refund - I would think you would get it

I get the same thing, and I've been trying to order a book for two days. I get the failed connection error every time. Sent a couple of messages to Support, only got the canned acknowledgement from them so far.

Using ILife 08 I also thought just now that I would rush to get a book put together before the promotion expired. I filled up all of the pages then found that when trying to Buy Book a box popped up telling me that there were some incomplete pages and my order could not go through till they were completed. I looked through again and there were no omissions or small exclamation marks to indicate a problem. Having a peep into the Help was no real help, but it did mention that (in iLife08) page two of the book , the text page, was really what would appear in gold lettering on the hard cover of the book under the dust cover...unlike 06 version. This is becoming a pain. 06 worked just fine...should I go back to it to create and buy my book? Forget this promotion, rushing all of this for a few $$'s is not worth the hassle, they are cheap enough anyway. Thanks in advance for any help.

The Code does not work. Neither here in Switzerland nor in Germany.
It is always marked as "expired"

I have been told by an Apple spokesman that the offer is being extended through March 7 as a result of the technical problems today.

The story will be up in a moment at http://www.macworld.com/article/132319/2008/02/iphoto_coupon.html

I can confirm this as well. I received the following email from Photo Services Support:

"Dear Valued Apple Customer,

Thank you for contacting Apple Photo Services Customer Support.

You may be intermittently unable to place an order. If you receive an error
while placing a book, card, calendar, or print order, please wait a few
minutes and try again.

This issue may have prevented you from taking advantage of our Winter
Promotion for 20% off the price of a book or calendar, as this promotion
ended on February 29, 2008. With this in mind, we have extended the coupon
expiration date to March 8, 2008, so that you may apply it to your order.

When you are able to purchase a book or calendar and apply the coupon,
follow these steps:

1) Create a book or calendar.

2) Click Buy Book or Buy Calendar, then click Use a Coupon on the right.

3) In the Coupon Code field, enter the appropriate code for your location
and project type:

North America:

NAWinterBook08
NAWinterCal08

Europe:

EUWinterBook08
EUWinterCal08

Japan:

JPWinterBook08
JPWinterCal08

4) Click Validate. A message will confirm that the coupon will be applied to
the order.

5) Click Use Coupon. In the lower right, the order total should now reflect
the discount.

6) Confirm or correct the shipping address and make any other necessary
revisions.

7) When you are ready to submit the order, click Buy Now.

Note that different project and coupon types cannot be combined on the same
order. Be sure to take advantage of this offer before the new expiration
date of March 8, 2008.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Apple Photo Services Customer Support"
