Driver for HP Photosmart 1115 & 1000, 1100 Series Printers.

Here is a driver package for the HP Photosmart 1000 and 1100 series of printers that is not posted on the HP website:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software5/COL11443/ps-33837-2/HP_Photosmart_Installer_10.2_10.4.dmg

The size is 82,211,015 bytes.

Note that the driver link at

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=219&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=58553&lang=en

says the size is 129.39 MB, but at the following download page

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ps-33827-2&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=58553&os=219&lang=en

the filename is HP_Photosmart_Installer_10.2-10.4.dmg and the size is 67,835,457 bytes.

For both downloads listed above, the date is 8/22/2005.

Will the larger file solve my problem with application crash when I try to print to the Photosmart 1115?

I have a G4 15" Powerbook, Airpot Extreme card, and the HP Photosmart 1115 connected to the USB port of a USR 5461 Router. When I try to print to the Photosmart 1115 via wireless 802.11g, the application quits.

Actually, wireless IP printing worked fine until I changed the security protocols to WPA2/PSK.

I have tried uninstalling the Photosmart driver and re-installing. Perhaps this larger installer file contains a fix?

Simple fix.

Download the GutenPrint v5.0.2 package, supporting over 800 printers:

Filename gutenprint-5.0.2-ub.dmg 17253010 bytes from

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1537&package_id=143930

Extract the .dmg image.

Run the uninstaller.

Install GutenPrint 5.0.2.

Next, download then install the vendor specific Mac OS X driver.

For the HP Photosmart 1115, download filename HP_Photosmart_Installer_10.2-10.4.dmg (67,835,457 bytes) from

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ps-33827-2&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=58553&os=219&lang=en

Extract the .dmg. Run the installer.

If you choose Easy Install, the Image Zone software will also install. For the driver only, select Minimal Install.

After installing HP Image Zone, an app called Setup Assistant will launch. To prevent the Setup Assistant from starting, goto Library-->Preferences-->Hewlett-Packard Preferences and delete the com.hp.setupassistant file. In my case, I have the Photosmart 1115 connected to the USB port of a USR 5461 router. The Setup Assistant is unable to access the printer, so I had to delete the com.hp.setupassistant file.

The Gutenprint 5.0.2 print drivers work for Leopard/Tiger/Panther/Jaguar.

There is a later Gutenprint 5.1.6 package, but it does not support older printers.

Gutenprint is the new name for GIMP Print. For more info, go to

http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/

Hi,
I did everything you listed; however, it's still giving the "same ol' error":

GenericClass: waiting for device

so, nothing happens. Any ideas?

I can't believe I got my HP Photosmart 1115 to work on Leopard.

I completely reinstalled Leopard and did ALL the updates.

Then my printer worked just fine (no, I did download or change any settings).

I don't know why it worked... but it did.
