Now that Apple has announced full Exchange syncing on the iPhone, when will the Mac version be released for Apple Mail and iCal?

Apple hasn't announced if they plan on supporting over the air syncing for a .Mac account with no way of knowing if they plan on doing so until they announce it.

Not with an iPhone you don't or with such a portable device wirelessly - direct with the .Mac servers which the term "over the air" or the abbreviation (OTA) applies to.
If you have a wireless network at home that your Mac is connected with - you are not connecting direct with the .Mac servers wirelessly. Your wireless network at home is connected with a cable or dsl modem that is handling the connection.
Not the same thing.

The Exchange syncing that Apple announced for the iPhone differs from regular .Mac syncing. For example, on a Mac the only way to sync iCal with an Exchange calendar is through Entourage. The iPhone calendar sync will be direct with the Exchange server (and may use a full "Exchange" protocol, not an IMAP protocol), a huge advantage for those who use Exchange calendaring at work.

Yes, but will iCal also support an Exchange connection? It currently does not and it seems illogical that a remote client (iPhone) can connect to Exchange calendar while the desktop client (iCal) can not.
Does anyone know if iCal will be updated on release of the iPhone 2.0 software?
